FAQs
¿What is Rosalind's approach to patient care?
Rosalind utilizes a comprehensive and holistic analysis of muscle function, movement patterns, and daily activities, along with individual habits, during her evaluation process. The intervention strategies she employs include, but are certainly not limited to, modifications in the execution of daily activities, tailored home exercise programs, and various manual techniques such as myofascial release and visceral mobilization, in addition to energetic work like Reiki. These approaches are specifically designed to create a personalized therapeutic program that caters to each individual's unique needs and preferences. Therapies are conveniently offered in the comforting environment of the patient's own home and are coordinated closely with the patient to ensure that their work participation remains uninterrupted.
Does my private health insurance cover the sessions?
Rosalind is a Licensed and Board Certified Occupational Therapist. However, at this time, she is not in any insurance company's network. Reimbursement may be requested as an out-of-network Occupational Therapy provider. The percentage of reimbursement for the service will depend on your policy. Please check with your health insurance company to determine the details of your coverage before beginning treatment.
Payment is required at the time of service. Rosalind can provide you with a “superbill” at the end of each session that you can submit to your insurance or health savings plan to request reimbursement as indicated by your health insurance plan. Some insurance companies have a limit on how much they will disburse or how many sessions they will allow. You are responsible for understanding your coverage for out-of-network providers.
Do I need a referral or prescription?
Definitely!
Patients can directly access an Occupational Therapist in Puerto Rico without a prescription (Rx). However, due to the nature of the practice approach, patients are required to obtain a prescription prior to the initial evaluation. Additionally, some insurance companies may still require a prescription to reimburse. It is your responsibility to confirm your health insurance company's policies.
Just a reminder: Rosalind does not accept insurance, but you can submit the provided bill (superbill) to your insurance for an out-of-network provider. (You’ll need to ask your physician for pelvic floor therapy and email the prescription to therapelvica@gmail.com)
What can I expect from my assessment session?
This is your chance to share your experience and add to the information you gave before the visit. Together, we will link your story with details from your physical assessment to understand the issues you are facing. We will start creating a personalized plan to meet your needs. This may involve improving core control, specific exercises, and learning new movement patterns and strategies you can use right away.
What can I expect from my follow-up sessions?
Follow-ups are scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on how well you are progressing in the program, how much practice you need, and how soon you will be ready for a progression. Each session builds on the information and exercises learned in the previous session. We will monitor and modify the program as we integrate new strategies in meaningful function, movement, and fitness. You will be given homework at each session to work on until the next session.
How long is each session?
Assessment sessions can last around 75-90 minutes and follow-up sessions are typically scheduled for 60 minutes. Virtual visits are also available for people who find it convenient. Rosalind is a certified Telehealth professional.
